An Examination of the China Market with Laminate Supplier Shengyi
December 18, 2015 | Pete Starkey, Real Time with...productronicaEstimated reading time: 4 minutes
Dong: Europe is an old industry base in the world, for example, with industries like automotive and companies like Mercedes-Benz, BMW and many more. The car industry sector has always been here and continues to grow so fast due to developing technology. Now people are talking about smart cars, which we will follow as it develops, to help meet those requirements. We need very good performance to meet the requirements of the automotive business. Another thing in Europe which I think is very popular is the control system industry, especially for medical and with more machines being built for Industry 4.0. China is going to push for the industry development strategy by 2025 on almost the same topic, so for us we hope to be in the European automotive, controls, and medical markets.
Starkey: What is your company’s approach to new product development?
Dong: For us, we have the only national R&D center in mainland China and the government supports us. The Chinese government investment pushes us to develop new production and we have requirements from our government that we grow as the nation’s richest and most developed center. We can manage the total market, not just for China, but for the American and European markets as well. For example, we have some high-performance, high-speed, low Dk, low Df production, which we can do. We have a lot of production at the international global level.
Starkey: What is the extent of your product range?
Dong: As one of the world’s major laminate suppliers, we offer many options to the industry. Of course our major product group is in the FR-4 segment which includes standard high temperature products but has expanded to address the halogen-free, low and very low-loss, high-reliability type products. We also have the ability to offer polyimide, flexible laminate, aluminum clad, CEM-1 and CEM-3 products. Shengyi Technology will be increasing our interaction with the OEMs of the world to understand their requirements and address those requirements as the technologies change.
Starkey: Jack, I'm very grateful to you for your very complete explanation of the company, the product, production quantities, the range of materials and the perspective of the marketplace from your point of view. Thank you for your time and we wish every success for the future.
Dong: Thank you very much, Pete.
Starkey: Thank you.
