Carey Burkett, vice president of business development for Flexible Circuit Technologies (FCT), is pleased to announce professional manufacturers’ representative Johnson Company has agreed to represent FCT’s products and services within its Upper Midwest and Central Midwest Territories.
Johnson Company, an electronic manufacturer’s representative firm with headquarters located in the Minneapolis, MN area, is an outstanding firm committed to superior customer service. Johnson Company will be representing FCT in their five-state Upper Midwest territory including MN, ND, SD, IA and western WI and also within their four-state Central Midwest territory including NE, KS, MO, and Southern IL.
In discussing this newly formed relationship Burkett explained, “Mark Peterson, president and owner of Johnson Company and I came together to explore the possibilities of forming this relationship. In the process I found that Mark had laid out an exciting strategy for his firm that is on point with the key topics of the day within electronics; it’s a strategy that fits extremely well with FCT. Mark has developed an outstanding team inclusive of technical sales, engineering, and overall customer support personnel. They provide excellent coverage across the territories that Johnson Company serves and offer a complementary line card that fit well with Flexible Circuit Technologies.”
Mark Peterson agreed, stating that, “Johnson Company is very involved with opportunities that center on high technology, wireless, consumer, medical, IoT, wearables, low power and more. We see continued growth for these technologies across all markets that we serve and FCT is a complementary fit given our plans. Often the applications that we address involve size reduction, weight reduction, and complex form factors that require flexible circuits, rigid flex, and flexible heaters. Furthermore, customers are also seeking expertise in flex circuit assembly services for sub-assemblies and even complete product box builds. Flexible Circuit Technologies checked all the boxes given their superior design support, quality products and significant growth in their EMS/assembly and product module to complete box build offerings. We are excited about coming together and look forward to the joint success that we can attain in support of our customers.”
Flexible Circuit Technologies and Johnson Company have formalized their relationship and both companies are excited as they look to kick things off beginning May 1, 2020. Both Mark and Carey agreed that given the current situation with Covid 19, it is increasingly difficult to get introduced to new customers, yet customers continue to push forward with their initiatives. Given continued needs, they are both well positioned to explore opportunities through other means in support of customers.
Peterson further stated, “We continue to have a lot of activity with our customers and prospects and today are doing a significant number of internet-based meetings in order to safely respond to the important program needs that our customers have for continued product development.”

It’s Only Common Sense: Marketing Isn’t Fluff, It’s Ammunition
11/03/2025 | Dan Beaulieu -- Column: It's Only Common SenseI’ve lost count of the times I’ve heard someone dismiss marketing as “fluff.” You know the tone: a little smirk, a little condescension, and the implication that “real companies” don’t need marketing. They say, “We make a great product. Our work speaks for itself.”

PCB companies—like all businesses serving demanding B2B clients in aerospace, defense, medical, and high-reliability markets—often feel caught between responding quickly and providing accurate, helpful, and meaningful information.

It’s Only Common Sense: The Phone Is Still Mightier Than the Keyboard
10/20/2025 | Dan Beaulieu -- Column: It's Only Common SenseThere’s a dangerous myth that the keyboard is mightier than the phone, and if you blast enough cold emails, send enough LinkedIn connection requests, and fire off enough PDF proposals, customers will eventually buy from you. Let me set the record straight: Cold emails don’t close deals; conversations do.
