Low Order Visibility for Flexible PCB
June 25, 2019 | DigitimesEstimated reading time: Less than a minute
Taiwan's flexible PCB makers are reporting low order visibility in the wake of the US ban on Huawei, whose impact is rippling across the smartphone market, with Apple probably also taking a hit, according to Digitimes.
Flexible PCB firms Zhen Ding Technology and Flexium Interconnect, in particular—both of which are reportedly among the flexible PCB suppliers of Apple—are seeing low order visibility. The memory sector is also being hit by low demand partly resulting from the ban, sending suppliers bracing for a weak third quarter.
But there is still some good news coming out from the PCB supply chain, as makers still expect robust demand from the networking device segment in the second half of the year.

Fresh PCB Concepts: Designing for Success at the Rigid-flex Transition Area
08/28/2025 | Team NCAB -- Column: Fresh PCB ConceptsRigid-flex PCBs come in all shapes and sizes. Manufacturers typically use fire-retardant, grade 4 (FR-4) materials in the rigid section and flexible polyimide materials in the flex region. Because of the small size, some rigid-flex PCBs, like those for hearing aid devices, are among the most challenging to manufacture. However, regardless of its size, we should not neglect the transition area between the rigid and flexible material.
