PC Client CPU Shipments in 1Q24 Up 33% YoY
May 10, 2024 | Jon Peddie ResearchEstimated reading time: Less than a minute

Jon Peddie Research reports the growth of the global PC client-based CPU units market reached 62 million units in Q1’24, a decrease of -9.4% quarter to quarter and a 33% growth from Q1’23.
Meanwhile, iGPU shipments decreased to 56 million units from last quarter. Year over year, however, iGPUs increased by 30%. Over the next five years, the penetration of iGPUs in the PC segment will grow to reach 98%.
Server CPU shipments decreased -13% from last quarter and were down -17% from last year.
Jon Peddie, president of JPR, commented, “Q1’s decrease in client CPU shipments from four quarters of positive news threw a few off, especially investors. It’s actually good news in a sense if it is an indication that the market has stabilized and has returned to its traditional cyclic behavior. If that’s the case, and we think it is, Q2 will also be down.”
