Laser Photonics MarkStar Systems Enhance Permanent Marking In Manufacturing Industry
December 6, 2024 | BUSINESS WIREEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Laser Photonics Corporation, a leading global industrial developer of laser systems for cleaning and other material processing, today showcased the significant applications of its industrial laser marking systems in the manufacturing industry.
Laser marking changes the surface by using a low-powered beam, which moves slowly over the substrate surface with little to no penetration. This technique can generate linear and 2D codes as well as UID and alphanumeric codes. They can also product optical characters on a wide range of surfaces. The final marking effect largely depends on the marking head, lens, and wavelength specified. Different laser marking methods include ablation, engraving, and etching.
“Our MarkStar products allow operators to precisely mark manufactured products and components with durable, wear-resistant, and long-lasting marks on a variety of materials and equipment,” said Wayne Tupuola, CEO of Laser Photonics. “Our reliable, high-speed, permanent marking methods are replacing slower, less reliable techniques like dot-peen stamping and inkjet marking. LPC offers a laser marking system that is not only easy to use but also environmentally safe, operator-safe, and time-efficient.”
They can be integrated seamlessly into a wide variety of production workflows, offering higher accuracy, higher readability, and lower labor costs when compared to traditional material marking methods. Laser systems’ extremely high processing rates translate to boosted throughput and efficiency in volume production scenarios. Moreover, laser marking uses no consumables, reducing material as well as operational costs.
Laser Photonics’ MarkStar product line is a state-of-the-art laser marking technology encapsulated in a family of compact, handheld, and portable systems. The MarkStar Class IV lasers ensure safety through the inclusion of numerous features, including an adaptable AC/DC power system. These laser systems are maintenance-free, though their rugged handheld designs allow them to conquer harsh conditions.
MarkStar fiber laser beams can be easily programmed to clearly, legibly and accurately create various shapes, patterns, and characters with high accuracy on metals, plastic, ceramics and even some organic materials such as leather or fabric. This makes LPC systems perfect for company brand marking, serial or other product numbering, device or component labeling, engraving logos, barcoding packages, and even personalizing promotional products with laser etching. Operators can mark a wide variety of materials for identification or tracking, and enable operators to quickly scan parts for vital information.
