Sanmina’s Salt Lake City Facility Earns AS9100C Certification
December 2, 2016 | Sanmina Corp.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Sanmina's Salt Lake City, Utah facility has been awarded the AS9100C certification for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), subassemblies and systems. This certification is an internationally recognized standard focused on quality requirements necessary in the defense and aerospace industry. Compliance with this certification, which includes increased parts traceability, risk identification and mitigation, ensures that mission critical equipment used by the military and government meets the highest quality standards.
The western United States is home to many large and emerging defense and aerospace companies who are developing advanced air, sea and ground based defense technology. OEMs must meet stringent government regulations and have manufacturing partners with the necessary certifications to produce the high reliability electronics used in military and aviation equipment. The AS9100C certification compliments Sanmina Salt Lake City’s existing International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) security registration.
"We take pride in having served high technology military and aerospace customers for many years," said Jack Nydegger, Plant Manager, Sanmina Salt Lake City Operations. "There is strong demand from both tier 1 and other OEM's for new product introduction (NPI) and rapid prototyping services in this region. Our new AS9100C certification, along with our ITAR registration and expertise with defense and aerospace products make us uniquely qualified to offer a complete range of services, with full regulatory compliance."
Sanmina's state-of-the-art Salt Lake City facility is the area's only tier 1 integrated manufacturing service (IMS) provider, and also serves as a gateway to Sanmina's 70 facilities worldwide. Customers also benefit from experienced engineering, supply chain and manufacturing professionals that support design, development and prototyping for PCBAs and complex systems.
