CyberOptics to Demo Advanced MRS-Enabled CyberGage360 3D Scanning Inspection System at UK Southern Manufacturing Show
March 7, 2017 | CyberOptics CorporationEstimated reading time: 2 minutes

CyberOptics Corporation today announced that it will demonstrate the CyberGage360, an automated 3D scanning inspection system, at Southern Manufacturing 2017 , March 21 – 23 in Farnborough, United Kingdom in booth K110.
With just one button, a highly precise 360-degree 3D scan of complex parts along with a full 3D inspection report can be generated in less than three minutes. Little training is required for set-up, programming and operation, so anyone can check critical features and any deviation from CAD.
Incorporating CyberOptics’ proprietary 3D Multi-Reflection Suppression (MRS) technology, the automated CyberGage360 brings significantly greater accuracy and scanning speeds to the industrial parts inspection and reverse engineering markets – an unprecedented combination of speed, accuracy and simplicity that has yet to be seen in the industrial 3D scanning markets.
“The CyberGage360 utilizes our proprietary MRS sensor technology that is now even more precise with a 7 micron accuracy and 5 micron repeatability – a 3.5X advancement from the first generation,” said Dr. Subodh Kulkarni, President and CEO, CyberOptics. “There really isn’t anything like it in the market that can deliver a highly accurate full 3D volumetric scan and inspection report in less than 3 minutes, at the touch a button. Compared to alternate solutions that can take hours or longer and tie up resources, the CyberGage360 can significantly speed inspections right on the factory floor. Manufacturers can quickly confirm that the components they are making match the specifications before they ship.”
The CyberGage360 facilitates quality assurance by enabling any employee to be an inspector of In-Process QA and Incoming /Outgoing parts whether on the manufacturing floor, in the metrology lab or engineering environment. The scanning and inspection system has a range of potential applications for aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, medical and other verticals, where high accuracy and high speed throughput are vital. The system can effectively replace traditional gauges, Video and Tactile Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and can be used as an absolute or comparative measuring solution on the production floor or in the quality lab.
