ESCATEC Names New CEO to Accelerate the Group’s Expansion
April 10, 2022 | ESCATECEstimated reading time: 1 minute

Integrated electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider, ESCATEC, has appointed industry veteran Ernest Sebak as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with the mandate to deliver the Group’s ambitious growth plans and further enhance its reputation as a highly customer centric and trustworthy organisation.
Formerly the Vice President of Jabil’s Global Business Unit, Sebak will be taking over the baton as CEO from Patrick Macdonald who is leaving for personal reasons.
Sebak officially assumes his new role on 11th April and will be based in ESCATEC’s corporate headquarters located within the major electronics cluster of Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia. He will be working closely with Macdonald for several weeks to ensure a smooth handover of the Group’s strategic plans.
“I would like to welcome Ernie to the ESCATEC Group. His in-depth experience in the EMS sector will be instrumental in preserving ESCATEC’s core values of customer service and efficient, high-quality output. At a time when supply chains are as stretched as ever, it is good to have decision makers who can act quickly in the interests of all stakeholders. As a family-owned company, we empower Ernie to act quickly and responsibly, and we maintain our long-term outlook for all business relations. I’d also like to thank Patrick for his contributions to the Group and wish him well for the future,” said Group Executive Chairman Christophe Albin.
Besides Jabil, Sebak has held senior roles in Honeywell Aerospace, Tech Data Corporation, and Entex Information Services. He holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Florida State University and an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University.
“ESCATEC is extremely well positioned for a highly successful future and I am looking forward to joining the team that is leading ESCATEC into the next phase of growth,” said Sebak.
ESCATEC has been in rapid expansion mode over the past two years with the Group making major investments to acquire the latest technologies and capabilities, as well as significantly expanding its international production and design footprint via acquisition and partnerships.
In May last year, it acquired UK-based JJS Manufacturing, which added highly valued capabilities in large format, electro-mechanical assembly and production facilities in the United Kingdom and Central Europe to its portfolio.
