Current IssueInner Layer Precision & Yields
In this issue, we examine the critical nature of building precisions into your inner layers and assessing their pass/fail status as early as possible. Whether it’s using automation to cut down on handling issues, identifying defects earlier, or replacing an old line...
Engineering Economics
The real cost to manufacture a PCB encompasses everything that goes into making the product: the materials and other value-added supplies, machine and personnel costs, and most importantly, your quality. A hard look at real costs seems wholly appropriate.
Alternate Metallization Processes
Traditional electroless copper and electroless copper immersion gold have been primary PCB plating methods for decades. But alternative plating metals and processes have been introduced over the past few years as miniaturization and advanced packaging continue to develop.

atg Luther & Maelzer and IEC Install A7Pro Flying Probe Tester at Toronto-based PCB Factory
February 19, 2024 | IECEstimated reading time: Less than a minute
Longest-serving distributor to the North American PCB industry, IEC (International Electronic Components) confirms that the atg Luther & Maelzer A7Pro, eight-head, double-sided, high-speed flying probe test system has been ordered and installed at a prominent PCB manufacturer in Toronto, Canada.
IEC President Shawn Stone says, “IEC attributes our longevity to the expertise and dedication of our sales team leaders, our loyal customers, and strategic partners such as atg Luther & Maelzer.”
atg’s A7Pro testers utilize eight flying probe test heads, multiple optical recognition systems, and a wide variety of advanced, high-speed electrical test measurement techniques to electrically test all types of PCBs for continuity and isolation. Board sizes of 24" x 21" (or larger), with small pad/fine pitch technology can be tested quickly and easily. Special options such as 4-wire Kelvin tests, hi-pot test, latent defect test, and others can be provided.
