All Flex Solutions Achieves AS9100 Recertification
July 10, 2024 | All Flex SolutionsEstimated reading time: 1 minute
The Flex Circuit Center of Excellence of All Flex Solutions was recently recertified to the AS9100 accreditation, which is awarded based on upholding a high standard in quality management system requirements. The AS9100 certification was created to ensure that an accredited manufacturer can meet the unique standards required by the aerospace, aviation, and defense industries.
Throughout the reaccreditation process, our foundational Quality Management System (QMS) was rigorously checked to ensure we had proper processes and responses to any situation within our organization's plan. That plan is based on the elements of a Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle:
- Plan - Our leadership's commitment, as well as our organizational workflow and tactful planning.
- Do - Control and maintain production schedules and accurately manage suppliers. Make sure to have support in place for document control, training, calibration, and preventative maintenance
- Check - Continuous reviewing by management to ensure internal standards and customer satisfaction are being met. Must be ready for internal audits as necessary.
- Act - Continuous improvement, ready to correct any errors of our process as they arise.
In addition to the above elements, AS9100 has specific, additional requirements necessary for the Aviation, Space, and Defense industry's supply chain regulations. These extra areas of focus include: operational risk assessment, product safety, prevention of counterfeit parts, management of suppliers, and ethics training.
All Flex Solutions, Inc. has continued to meet the standard of AS9 l 00 in their Flex Center of Excellence division. This certification scheme is conducted on a three-year certification audit cycle, with surveillance audits conducted annually and a full certification audit every third year.

Fresh PCB Concepts: Designing for Success at the Rigid-flex Transition Area
08/28/2025 | Team NCAB -- Column: Fresh PCB ConceptsRigid-flex PCBs come in all shapes and sizes. Manufacturers typically use fire-retardant, grade 4 (FR-4) materials in the rigid section and flexible polyimide materials in the flex region. Because of the small size, some rigid-flex PCBs, like those for hearing aid devices, are among the most challenging to manufacture. However, regardless of its size, we should not neglect the transition area between the rigid and flexible material.
