Current IssueInner Layer Precision & Yields
In this issue, we examine the critical nature of building precisions into your inner layers and assessing their pass/fail status as early as possible. Whether it’s using automation to cut down on handling issues, identifying defects earlier, or replacing an old line...
Engineering Economics
The real cost to manufacture a PCB encompasses everything that goes into making the product: the materials and other value-added supplies, machine and personnel costs, and most importantly, your quality. A hard look at real costs seems wholly appropriate.
Alternate Metallization Processes
Traditional electroless copper and electroless copper immersion gold have been primary PCB plating methods for decades. But alternative plating metals and processes have been introduced over the past few years as miniaturization and advanced packaging continue to develop.

TPCA Strengthens Thailand's PCB Industry with Talent Development Initiative
November 29, 2024 | TPCAEstimated reading time: Less than a minute
The Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA) is taking significant steps to support the growth of Thailand's PCB industry. Acknowledging the rising demand for skilled professionals in the region, TPCA has launched the "International PCB Talent Cultivation Program" to foster collaboration between industry and academia and to build a strong talent pipeline.
The initiative focuses on three core areas. First, TPCA has established partnerships with several leading Thai universities, including King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Khon Kaen University (KKU), and Chiang Mai University (CMU). These collaborations aim to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry needs.
Second, the program offers comprehensive training that includes both foundational PCB concepts and advanced technical skills. This ensures that students are well-equipped to contribute effectively to the industry’s growth.
Finally, TPCA facilitates connections between Thai students and Taiwanese PCB companies, creating opportunities for internships, job placements, and long-term career development.
Through these efforts, TPCA is addressing the talent shortage in Thailand’s PCB industry and contributing to the advancement of the electronics manufacturing sector in the region.
