Europe's Electronics Manufacturing Sector Grew 6.4% in 3Q

The electronics manufacturing industry in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Europe registered a 6.4 percent growth in revenues for the third quarter, as compared to the previous quarter, according to the German Electric and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI). The growth is mainly driven by local manufacturers and EMS providers. In Germany alone, electronics manufacturing revenues are up 7 percent, and exports, up by 2.6 percent, compared with the previous quarter.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The overall electronics manufacturing revenues in Germany reached Euro 23.2 billion in the first three quarters of the year, up 3.5 percent compared to the same period in 2007, according to ZVEI. Next year, ZVEI forecasts a 3.7 percent growth.
Incoming orders grew by 1.9 percent in the third quarter. The Book-to-bill Ratio, meanwhile, reached a value of 0.94.
