OK International Debuts Tweezers
November 26, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
GARDEN GROVE, Calif. OK International released MX-PTZ precision tweezer tooling for its Metcal MX-500 soldering and rework system. The tweezers are designed to eliminate thermal overshoot, PCB stress, and package damage during manual rework. They are reportedly lightweight and ergonomically designed.
Tweezers apply heat to the end caps of devices while mechanically gripping the component. The MX-PTZ's soldering cartridges come in various sizes for reworking a range of discreet and SOIC component types. Features include OK International's SmartHeat technology, double-sided pivot movement, and dual-position pitch adjustment.
Adjustable tip alignment for height and rotation control allows higher coplanarity of tip cartridges. Keyways on the tip cartridges prevent misalignment, according to the company. Pincer action also is adjustable.
