Design Kits Ease Time-to-Market Strain

ROCHESTER, N.Y. TimingDesigner 9.0, offered by EMA Design Automation, features design kits with assembled diagrams and libraries for commonly used parts and interface protocol standards, as well as program changes to suit new operating systems.
EMA Design Automation acquired the TimingDesigner suite in January 2007; it was originally introduced in 1991. The kits are pre-assembled component timing diagrams with specified libraries for speed and voltage ratings. They reportedly give designers a "head start" with timing analysis of designs. The kit also offers risk mitigation, reducing design spins and giving designers the confidence that the product will meet timing closure, said Manny Marcano, president and CEO of EMA.
The kits contain all documented timing protocols associated with one or more design components, and are assembled for inclusion in TimingDesigner's Manager Window. TimingDesigner 9.0 offers design kits for processors from Intel and Freescale Semiconductor, as well as DDR and Flash memory formats. It will be available in July 2007.
