December 19, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
MUNICH — Productronica 2005 remains the largest trade show for electronics, attracting more than 44,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibitors from November 15–18, 2005.
Reinforcing the show's international appeal, 38% of exhibiting companies and 42% of attendees came from outside Germany this year. The number of U.S. exhibitors rose by almost 19% to 96. More than 90% of attendees rated Productronica 2005 as excellent or good, while 83% of exhibitors voted the same. Several exhibitors were able to conclude business transactions at the show, claim officials, reflecting a possible industry upswing.
Plans for the next Productronica are already in the works. The show will take place November 13–16, 2007, at the New Munich Trade Fair Center in Germany. Prior to this, Munich International Trade Fairs will organize other regional trade shows for the burgeoning Asian market, including Componex/electronicIndia, January 23–25, 2006 in New Delhi, India; and electronica & ProductronicaChina 2006, March 21–23, 2006, in Shanghai, China (held in conjunction with LASER).
