CACI International Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a $63.5 million bridge contract by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) to continue its support for NAWCAD’s Special Communications Mission Solutions (SCMS) Division. The 20-month contract represents continuing work for CACI in its Communications and Command and Control market areas.
NAWCAD SCMS supports research and development, engineering, test and evaluation of all U.S. Navy and Marine Corps air vehicle systems and trainers. NAWCAD SCMS products and services include fixed, transportable and mobile systems for platforms such as shipboard, aircraft/airborne and weapon systems, to be placed on small crafts, boats, shelters, or vehicles.
Under the terms of the award, CACI will support SCMS efforts that include quick-reaction capabilities in the subset of command, control, computers, communications, intelligence (C4I) electronic systems and interoperability. CACI will be involved throughout all stages of development. Starting with design, prototyping, fabrication, and installation, CACI will continue contributing expertise through certification, testing, and maintenance.
John Mengucci, CACI’s Chief Operating Officer and President of U.S. Operations, said, “By rapidly producing prototypes of critical electronics and equipment, CACI continues to assist the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in enhancing the accuracy of their development and zeroing in on the functionality required to support their mission.”
According to CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Asbury, “This work for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division continues CACI’s legacy of support in developing new technology to quickly and securely deliver vital information that safeguards our troops and gives them a decisive edge.
