In 2010, approximately 268 million passengers travelled by air in China and by 2015, this number had increased by 168 million. It is expected that China will need 6,810 new aircraft and about 248,000 new pilots over the next two decades.
India is said to have the potential to become the world's third largest aviation market by 2020. The sector is expanding fast boosted by the low cost carriers, state of the art new airports and FDI in domestic airlines. It has been projected that the Indian aviation sector will grow at a rate of 10% per annum to reach 4.5 billion USD by FY2017.
