Rehm Invests in Seven New Apprentices for Various Roles
September 30, 2020 | Rehm Thermal SystemsEstimated reading time: 1 minute

The beginning of September signalled a new phase in the lives of many junior staff — the start of their apprenticeships. Seven young people have started their apprenticeships in various professions at Rehm Thermal Systems in Blaubeuren-Seißen. Two prospective industrial clerks, three mechatronics engineers, one IT specialist in the field of application development and one specialist in warehouse logistics. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, Rehm Thermal Systems is relying on qualified, committed and motivated junior staff.
In addition to all of the technical elements, the training focuses on things like independence, creativity and teamwork. This gives apprentices the opportunity right from the start to take on responsibility and carry out small projects. For prospective mechatronics engineers, for example, a separate area has been created in which they can design and implement their own small systems.
“We are pleased to welcome our new junior staff and will do our best to provide them with instructive, varied and above all future-oriented training”, says Manuela Sebabi, training manager at Rehm Thermal Systems for commercial apprentices. “It’s always exciting to support the apprentices through their training and, in these first few years of their careers, to share all of the experience, expertise and knowledge that we as a company have realised on a daily basis for the last 30 years."
A well-founded apprenticeship and the promotion of young, committed individuals has been firmly anchored in the corporate philosophy of Rehm Thermal Systems for many years. With the new trainees, the Rehm Group now employs a total of more than 25 trainees at Rehm Thermal Systems and Rehm BlechTec in seven different professions and two dual study programmes.
The application phase for the 2021 training year has already begun. Further information can be found at www.rehm-group.com.

Knocking Down the Bone Pile: Gold Mitigation for Class 2 Electronics
05/07/2025 | Nash Bell -- Column: Knocking Down the Bone PileIn electronic assemblies, the integrity of connections between components is paramount for ensuring reliability and performance. Gold embrittlement and dissolution are two critical phenomena that can compromise this integrity. Gold embrittlement occurs when gold diffuses into solder joints or alloys, resulting in mechanical brittleness and an increased susceptibility to cracking. Conversely, gold dissolution involves the melting away of gold into solder or metal matrices, potentially altering the electrical and mechanical properties of the joint.
