According to the IDC MarketScape : Asia/Pacific Manufacturing Execution Systems 2023 Vendor Assessment, Critical Manufacturing, Dassault Systèmes, SAP, and Siemens are identified (in alphabetical order) as “Leaders” among Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) vendors, followed closely by "Major Players" in the market namely (in alphabetical order) Aveva, Black Lake Technologies, Digiwin, Epicor, FPT Software, GE Digital, New Core, Oracle, Rockwell, Samsung SDS, and SiE.
Manufacturers prioritize building business agility in response to the dynamics and volatility of the market. The increase in deployment of industrial automation and Internet-of-Things (IoT) in manufacturing processes and workflows had pledged the need for the adoption of an MES solution. Vendors need to be attentive to additional manufacturers' challenges such as sustainability compliance and skills shortage.
To deliver an MES solution that meets manufacturers' expectations, vendors need to continuously innovate their products beyond the basic core functionality, providing support for seamless integration, simplifying user interface (UI/UX) and offering manufacturers the flexibility to scale on the ability to control, execute, monitor, and analyze their production operations performance in real-time.
"Manufacturers are constantly looking to improve their production efficiency. An MES solution is an indispensable tool that provides manufacturers with the ability to control, execute, monitor, and analyze their production operations performance in real-time. MES solution providers need to support and help manufacturers in customizing and integrating the solution, ensuring that their organization can gain optimal benefits and achieve short-term and long-term organizational goals," says Dr. Wai Yee Lee, Research Manager, Manufacturing Insights, IDC Asia/Pacific.
