Cogiscan, a leading connectivity and TTC solution provider for the electronics manufacturing industry, is pleased to announce that SolarEdge Technologies selected Cogiscan’s comprehensive machine connectivity platform and Track Trace Control (TTC) solution, as part of its ongoing digital transformation initiative for manufacturing operations.
As a global leader in smart energy technology, SolarEdge designs, builds, and manufactures photovoltaic (PV) inverters for a broad range of energy sectors. As part of its broader and ongoing quality enhancement initiatives, SolarEdge strives to better monitor, control, and improve manufacturing operations across all plants, including EMS partners, emphasizing how quality is paramount to the organization.
The Cogiscan installation included data collection and contextualization from all machines, enhanced material and process control on the line, traceability reporting of the production process, as well as factory performance visualization dashboards.
With the capability to integrate with existing systems and gather data in mixed vendor environments, the Cogiscan platform is ideally suited for deployment at partner manufacturing sites in both the Americas and Asia.
Dan Ilani, Senior Director of Global Manufacturing Technologies and Operations Excellence at SolarEdge commented, “This is part of our long-term strategic initiative to optimize the efficiency of our supply chain. As a world leading technology provider, we strive to build our products in strict adherence with their specifications in all our manufacturing facilities around the globe. While traditional inspections and testing are effective to a certain extent, there is a crucial need to monitor and control the process in real-time, using smart manufacturing technology.”
“We selected Cogiscan because of their expertise in the electronics industry and the modularity and flexibility of their Track, Trace Control (TTC) platform that has the ability to co-exist and integrate with various MES that are already implemented by our EMS partners,” added Roy Rosenstreich, Lead of Battery Space – R&D Department at SolarEdge.

Marcy’s Musings: All Things Material
06/18/2024 | Marcy LaRont -- Column: Marcy's MusingsIt wasn’t until I had been around the business block a bit that I truly understood the impact of inventory on one’s P&L. How a company manages its inventory has a tremendous effect on its financials. I saw many situations where “fixers” were hired to get an organization financially back on track. The companies then experienced some of their greatest gains in the first year by simply getting their inventory under control. This is material management at its most base level for a business, and in this June issue of PCB007 Magazine, we are talking about all things “material,” a popular and ever-evolving topic for PCB fabricators.

Material Matters: PCB007 Magazine June 2024 Issue
06/17/2024 | I-Connect007 Editorial TeamHow a company manages its inventory has a tremendous effect on its financials. This is also true for PCB manufacturing. But, as with most things regarding printed circuit board manufacturing, nothing is as simple as in other business segments. Materials management is nuanced, multifaceted, and requires a holistic systems approach for business success. It is no surprise that the PCB industry is abuzz with energy around material matters.
I-Connect007 Editor’s Choice: Five Must-Reads for the Week
06/14/2024 | Nolan Johnson, PCB007This week’s must-reads are comprised of news which moves the industry forward. We’ve had quite a lot of news on a global scale, and they’re all good reads. To winnow down to just five, I chose either new information or interesting takes on ongoing industry stories. To that end, we have news about new capital equipment for advanced packaging, discussions of material selection and the imaging process during PCB fabrication, a columnist's ode to the best engineer she knows, and some optimistic news from the semiconductor industry.
