Current IssueInner Layer Precision & Yields
In this issue, we examine the critical nature of building precisions into your inner layers and assessing their pass/fail status as early as possible. Whether it’s using automation to cut down on handling issues, identifying defects earlier, or replacing an old line...

The real cost to manufacture a PCB encompasses everything that goes into making the product: the materials and other value-added supplies, machine and personnel costs, and most importantly, your quality. A hard look at real costs seems wholly appropriate.
Alternate Metallization Processes
Traditional electroless copper and electroless copper immersion gold have been primary PCB plating methods for decades. But alternative plating metals and processes have been introduced over the past few years as miniaturization and advanced packaging continue to develop.

SAMI-AEC Announces Licensing Agreement with Saudi Aramco Technologies Company for the Raqeeb Safety System
October 3, 2024 | SAMIEstimated reading time: 1 minute
A leader in innovative solutions, SAMI Advanced Electronics Company, a SAMI Company, has executed a licensing agreement with Saudi Aramco Technologies Company (SATC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Aramco, to commercialize Raqeeb, a proprietary smart safety solution developed by Aramco.
Alarming global statistics on workplace incidents highlight the need for innovations like Raqeeb. According to the International Labor Organization, workplace incidents claim an estimated 2.78 million lives annually. With more than 7,500 fatal injuries and one million non-fatal injuries daily, the urgency for enhanced safety measures is evident. Raqeeb combines state-of-the-art Internet of Things (IoT) technology with artificial intelligence to provide safety coverage for workers in high-risk environments.
Eng. Ziad Al-Musallam, CEO of SAMI-AEC, said: “This licensing agreement with Saudi Aramco Technologies Company is a significant milestone in our mission to create safer workplaces. Raqeeb is designed to reduce the frequency and severity of workplace incidents, aligning with modern safety standards. Raqeeb is poised to be a game changer and would serve as a compelling example of how technology can enhance worker productivity and improve industry safety practices.”
Dr. Raed H. Abudawoud, CEO of SATC, commented: “This collaboration with SAMI-AEC marks an exciting step forward for us. The licensed technology will help to keep our teams safe and operations running smoothly. SAMI-AEC has a long history with SATC on various projects and is the ideal choice to commercialize Raqeeb. We are optimistic that Raqeeb will be successfully commercialized, within KSA and beyond.”
Developed using the latest Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, the system connects every worker to SAMI-AEC's IoT platform through wearable technology and environmental sensors, ensuring continuous monitoring and immediate response capabilities. It has already been deployed at numerous locations in collaboration with Aramco, significantly reducing workplace incidents and improving operational productivity.
