Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) raised its starting hourly wage for U.S. employees to $20 per hour on April 1.
The company currently has over 500 open positions globally, with 410 of the openings at its Pullman, Washington; Moscow, Idaho; and Lewiston, Idaho locations.
In addition to offering competitive wages and benefits, the 100 percent employee-owned company provides full-time U.S. employees a stake in the company through its employee stock ownership plan. With this plan, employees receive shares of SEL stock, which are held in a trust until they retire or leave the company. SEL employees and their families also enjoy access to free onsite health clinics and wellbeing centers, located on SEL campuses in Pullman and Lewiston.
SEL has experienced steady growth for more than four decades and continues to serve the needs of the critical infrastructure sector.
“Worldwide demand for our products is increasing and we’re pleased to offer new opportunities in Pullman, Moscow and Lewiston and to share our success with our employees,” said SEL Founder Edmund O. Schweitzer, III.
The starting wage was last raised in July 2023, from $18 to $19 per hour.
