Hon Hai-Foxconn Sustainability Award Debuts to Showcase ESG Creativity, With a Larger Scale and More Intense Competition
April 11, 2025 | FoxconnEstimated reading time: 3 minutes
Hon Hai Technology Group, the world's largest technology manufacturing and service provider, held its annual ESG event today , the " 2025 Hon Hai - Foxconn Sustainability Award" award ceremony. Colleagues from the group's global factories and supply chain partners participated in person and online. A total of 88 awards were presented this year, recognizing the efforts of colleagues from various subsidiaries and business groups in the ESG field. At the same time, by holding a roundtable forum, we reviewed the Group’s achievements and milestones in sustainable development, and witnessed the moments when colleagues and partners who have made outstanding contributions in the field of sustainable development received awards.
In his speech, Chairman Liu Yangwei of Hon Hai Technology Group congratulated all the finalists and award-winning colleagues, "Every finalist is a model of sustainable business, thank you for your efforts and contributions." At the same time, he announced that this year is a milestone in the completion of our first long-term ESG goal, "In the future, we will set and announce the second-phase goals for 2026-2030. It can be expected that these goals will be more ambitious and more challenging, and absolutely require every colleague to work together."
Rotating CEO Yang Qiujin said in her speech, "In the past year, the Group has performed well in the ESG field and has won numerous acclaims. This is inseparable from the dedication and innovation of every colleague. This year's Sustainability Award has received very enthusiastic participation and fierce competition, which also demonstrates our strength and passion in promoting sustainability around the world. I hope everyone can reap good results and inspire more actions and thinking through today's speeches and forums, so that sustainability can become our daily practice and core competitiveness."
The Sustainability Award has received a warm response since its first session last year, and this year's scale and volume have been comprehensively upgraded. This year, the competition attracted 1,168 entries from all over the world, a four-fold increase from last year, and the competition was fierce. After professional and rigorous selection by the organizing committee, a total of 290 excellent works were shortlisted, and finally 88 winners stood out. The winners' cases demonstrated Foxconn's abundant creativity and action in sustainable practice. In addition, in order to strengthen the emphasis on the environment, society, governance and promotion areas and to encourage continuous innovation, the "Environmental Special Award", "Social Special Award", "Governance Special Award" and "Promotion Special Award" have been specially added, hoping that no shining pearls will be missed.
Group spokesperson and Deputy General Manager Wu Junyi said that during this year’s award selection, we found that many units have been quietly promoting ESG for many years but have not had the opportunity to share publicly. Through this award, the Sustainability Promotion Office can discover more Best Practices and provide a reference for colleagues across the group.
In addition to the group, the Hon Hai - Foxconn Sustainability Award also invited suppliers to participate for the first time and established exclusive awards, hoping to promote the ESG concept to upstream and downstream supply chain partners. This year's event also invited customers, investors, independent directors and industry associations to participate. This not only demonstrates Foxconn's open attitude and integration capabilities in promoting sustainable business philosophy, but also its commitment to promoting collaboration among all parties to jointly build a sustainable ecosystem of mutual inclusion and progress.
During the ceremony on the 11th , a roundtable forum and keynote speeches were set up, bringing together industry experts, academic opinion leaders and sustainability practitioners to engage in in-depth dialogue on ESG issues. The collision of views from all parties stimulated cross-border thinking and injected more inspiration and energy into the sustainable development of enterprises. In the future, Foxconn will continue to practice the business philosophy of "sustainable management = EPS + ESG " and work together with all colleagues and industry chain partners to move towards a greener and more sustainable future.
