Lockheed Martin Expands Industrial Cooperation in Spain with New PAC-3 MSE Agreement
May 19, 2025 | Lockheed MartinEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Lockheed Martin subsidiary Lockheed Martin España S.A. signed a significant industrial cooperation agreement with the Spanish Ministry of Defense, providing the Spanish defense industry with increased engineering and production capability. This agreement leads to the opportunity for Spanish Industry to compete for the production of Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) components. This agreement marks a major milestone in the company's efforts to strengthen defense supply chains, harnessing the best of Spanish, U.S. and greater European industry.
The agreement, signed during the International Defence and Security Exhibition of Spain, (FEINDEF) outlines a framework for future collaboration on industrial development projects in Spain with leading Spanish defense technology firms Sener and Oesía-Tecnobit. Sener will design and develop PAC-3 MSE actuators based on Lockheed Martin specifications and Oesía Tecnobit will produce specialized PAC-3 MSE cables and harnesses. Lockheed Martin España has been working closely with these companies since 2023.
“Allied industrial partnerships like this collaboration with Sener and Oesía Tecnobit are a win for our countries’ shared security interests and highlight Lockheed Martin’s commitment to strengthening Spanish defense capabilities,” said Brian Kubik, vice president of PAC-3 Programs at Lockheed Martin. “The inclusion of Sener and Oesía-Tecnobit in the PAC-3 MSE supply chain is a significant step forward in our efforts to support the defence industrial base of the US and its allies.”
This partnership is expected to increase global supply chain resilience and create new business opportunities, benefiting both sides of the Atlantic. More than 3,125 Lockheed Martin employees support the PAC-3 program in the United States and in countries around the world.
PAC-3 MSE will deliver increased capability to Spain’s Patriot battalions to defend against incoming threats. The PAC-3 MSE interceptor is an advanced missile interceptor that defends against incoming threats through body-to-body contact. In 2024, the Spanish and U.S. governments formalized an agreement for Spain to purchase PAC-3 MSEs and related support equipment.
Lockheed Martin has been a partner to the Spanish industry for more than 40 years and is continuing to expand these partnerships through cooperation with leading innovative companies such as Sener and Oesía Tecnobit.

Nolan’s Notes: Is Mexico the Pulse of Electronics in the Americas?
11/04/2025 | Nolan Johnson -- Column: Nolan's NotesLast year, I attended SMTA Guadalajara, where I saw the results of the Mexican investment in electronics manufacturing. The U.S. was still operating under the Biden administration, and while Mexican EMS companies had expanded capacity to support EV manufacturing, the demand dropped significantly. In my conversations at the show, the sentiment was one of patience. They knew the EV business would likely come back. However, they didn’t expect an overhaul of U.S. trade agreements and tariffs that would shift a more diversified portfolio in Mexico’s direction.
