India’s electronics manufacturing industry is on a steep upward trajectory, propelled by strategic government policies, a vast market, and promising global supply chain shifts.
Manufacturing accounts for about 17% of India’s GDP and employs over 27 million workers. In the past two years, the manufacturing industry grew by 21%, driven by sectors like electronics, metals, and automobiles. Additionally, his team developed the Integrated Electronics Manufacturing and Interconnections (IEMI) event, which has been the largest networking event in South Asia for the electronics industry for the past three years. IEMI started in India and had a satellite event in Malaysia in 2024. Now, Gaurab is extending his outreach to the Middle East, Africa, and Australia.
“One of our key focuses at the Global Electronics Association has been to create real value for our members,” Gaurab says. “We’ve worked on increasing engagement by organizing industry-specific events, technical sessions, and educational programs that allow professionals to connect with and exchange knowledge.”
