The “2026 Foxconn Technology Award”, organized by the Foxconn Education Foundation, will be open for submissions from March 16 to April 24 , demonstrating its commitment to cultivating high-level R&D talent in Taiwan.
This year's Foxconn Technology Awards have for the first time divided the awards into "Academic Group" and "Application Group". The Academic Group recognizes forward-looking theoretical breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, next-generation communications, low-Earth orbit satellites, cybersecurity, quantum computing and hardware, and each winner will receive a prize of NT$ 250,000 . The Application Group awards each winner a prize of NT$ 100,000 to recognize innovative research in fields such as robotics, digital health, smart electric vehicle software and hardware, smart manufacturing, smart cities, and AI infrastructure.
This year's judging panel consisted of senior executives from the Foxconn Research Institute and the group, as well as external scholars and experts, who rigorously evaluated applications based on academic depth, unique innovation, and practical value. Professor Hu Bi-he of National Taiwan University pointed out that the Foxconn Technology Award is a highly influential platform, not only providing nourishment and encouragement for doctoral students but also ensuring that forward-looking research is seen. He encouraged students to seize the opportunity to boldly submit their applications, because "if you don't try, you'll never have a chance; only by trying can you have a chance." Professor Cheng Wen-huang of National Taiwan University also highly praised the Foxconn Technology Award for not only its substantial prize money but also its connection with industry leaders, allowing students to interact with industry professionals within the Foxconn Group and examine the social impact of their research from an industry perspective. Wang Guan-zhen, a two-time winner, also shared her experience, stating that regardless of winning or losing, each application is a process of rethinking and refining the research context and value, which is a valuable form of self-reflection.
In addition to the prize money, the Hon Hai Technology Award recipients also enjoy opportunities to interact with industry mentors and intern at the Hon Hai Group, witnessing firsthand the process of research moving from the laboratory to the market. The Hon Hai Education Foundation sincerely invites outstanding master's and doctoral students to apply, to challenge themselves, and to let their hard-earned research results be seen by more people.
