XJTAG Launches Free Standalone ODB++ Layout Viewer for Fast PCB Signal Navigation

XJTAG®, a trusted name in electronics testing and programming, announced the release of a free standalone Layout Viewer, designed to help engineers quickly view PCB designs using ODB++ data without requiring access to full CAD systems or test environments.
The XJTAG Layout Viewer enables fast and intuitive navigation of PCB layouts through netlist-aware search and visualisation. Engineers can instantly locate signals, components, and pins on complex boards, making it easier to debug, validate, and bring up hardware.
“Engineers working with real hardware often need a simple way to answer one question quickly: where is this signal on the board?” said Simon Payne, CEO at XJTAG. “This viewer is built specifically for that moment – no setup, no complexity, just immediate access to the layout through the netlist.”
XJTAG Layout Viewer is purpose-built for engineering workflows using ODB++ data. It leverages embedded netlist and component information to provide an easy way to navigate PCB designs.
The viewer is designed for hardware bring-up engineers, manufacturing test engineers, and field diagnostics teams who need quick access to layout information during development and troubleshooting.
By focusing purely on layout navigation, the standalone viewer is easy to use while addressing a critical gap between design data and physical board inspection.

Powering the Future: Why Thermal Management Defines the Future of Electronics
04/15/2026 | Brian Buyea -- Column: Powering the FutureEvery leap forward in electronics comes with a familiar consequence: heat. Whether it’s a power module driving an electric vehicle, a laser diode used in surgery, or a 5G amplifier operating in orbit, higher performance inevitably means higher temperatures. While engineers celebrate breakthroughs in speed, density, and power, none of those specifications matter if the system can’t keep cool long enough to perform reliably.
