Insulectro will be showcasing new, innovative products from its best-in-class suppliers at this year’s IPC APEX EXPO at the Las Vegas Convention Center, March 15 through 17, 2016.
Ken Parent, Insulectro Vice President of Sales & Product Management commented, “Changes are coming to the PCB industry at an ever-increasing pace. On the technical side, circuit boards are continuing the relentless trend towards thinner, smaller, and faster. OEM designers are demanding a new breed of materials with lower loss and lower Dk to design and build boards that were never before possible. As a materials supplier, we are very pleased to be able to introduce a host of exciting products to the electronics industry during IPC’s annual tradeshow. We will highlight innovative new products from DuPont®, Isola, LCOA®, Pacothane, Focus Tech, and EMD Performance Materials. We will also introduce two new suppliers: Oak-Mitsui with their premiere line of copper foil, and Shikoku Chemicals with leading edge products in organic solderability preservatives (OSP) and advanced pretreatment categories.
Norm Berry, Director of Laminates and OEM Marketing concurred with Parent, “There is a lot of excitement around Isola resin systems particularly with Tachyon 100G. 100G is a next generation resin and the performance is outstanding. We fully expect this product to take off and become the next ‘must have’ for designers. Stop by our booth (#534) and I’ll show you the data. You will be impressed.”
Insulectro Director of Product Management Michelle Walsh plans on making a big splash with chemistry at IPC APEX, “With the recent addition of Shikoku Chemicals to our portfolio, Insulectro is demonstrating the importance of offering a robust chemistry product line. Focus Tech Chemicals, a long-time supplier, together with newcomer Shikoku provide a broad platform of products for our customers.
“In addition, DuPont is introducing a new laminate, Interra™ FL. This laminate is a highly reliable no-glass solution for rigid fine-line applications. It offers finer line capabilities and improved electrical performance,” Walsh continued.
“And this is just one of the incredible DuPont materials Insulectro distributes. Come see me and I’ll bring you up to date on the Pyralux® flexible laminates and all of the Riston® dry film photoresist materials,” Walsh commented.
In addition to PCB materials, Insulectro distributes a full line of conductive inks and pastes from DuPont. Kevin Miller, Vice President of Sales for Printed Electronics, commented, “As you’ve probably seen, there is a lot of energy around printed electronics – it’s everywhere. You’ll find our products in everything from membrane switches to medical devices, and most exciting in wearable goods.
“In our booth (#534), you will see an example of a sports garment capable of monitoring a variety of bodily functions as the wearer works out – anything from body temperature to heart rate. And it’s all due to DuPont innovation with conductive, stretchable inks,” Miller added. “This is a great opportunity for PCB fabricators to learn more about PE materials. In our highly-attended Power Chats, you can get a 13.5 minute overview of the potential with ‘Printed Electronics 101’ presented by Insulectro VP of Technology Chris Hunrath.”
“Longtime Insulectro supplier Pacothane is introducing the ThermoLam™ system of extreme temperature release film (ThermoFilm™) and press pads (ThermoPads™),” Ken Parent added, “Plus, we will be exhibiting the remarkable Ormet® Sintering Paste from EMD Performance Materials and our superb drill room products from LCOA.
“We know we offer the best products available but another thing we are proud of is our Insulectro service model,” Parent continued, “Customers need tomorrow’s solutions today. They can’t wait. We are putting a lot of emphasis on product and service innovation this year. We take innovation very seriously. One of our core values is our commitment to the entire PCB supply chain. We enjoy forging trusted partnerships among suppliers, us as distributor, fabricators, and OEMs. We know the challenges we all face in a rapidly evolving marketplace and one of our goals is to bring solutions that strengthen everyone’s businesses.”

Nolan’s Notes: Is Mexico the Pulse of Electronics in the Americas?
11/04/2025 | Nolan Johnson -- Column: Nolan's NotesLast year, I attended SMTA Guadalajara, where I saw the results of the Mexican investment in electronics manufacturing. The U.S. was still operating under the Biden administration, and while Mexican EMS companies had expanded capacity to support EV manufacturing, the demand dropped significantly. In my conversations at the show, the sentiment was one of patience. They knew the EV business would likely come back. However, they didn’t expect an overhaul of U.S. trade agreements and tariffs that would shift a more diversified portfolio in Mexico’s direction.
