Crowdfunding Campaign Launched for Next-gen Soldering Tool
June 10, 2016 | Full Circle LabsEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Full Circle Labs, the creator of the Retouch3D – a handheld, heated tool designed specifically for finishing 3D prints, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign to fund the expansion of its modular platform for handheld heated tools into new markets. The company is raising £200,000 on the Invesdor crowdfunding platform to support the development of two new products: a next-generation soldering iron and a dental wax tool for dental technicians.
In 2015, a successful Kickstarter campaign for the Retouch3D led to worldwide interest in the product, which has received more than 400 pre-orders and has resellers and distributors ready to start selling in 16 countries.
The global interest generated in the technology also identified new potential uses and markets for the company’s patented technology platform and the IP behind it.
“We have received huge interest from distributors and resellers across the world looking to sell the Retouch3D, however, as we have developed the platform and engaged with customers we have identified higher volume and higher value markets beyond 3D printing,” said Phil Newman, one of Full Circle Labs’ founders. “These opportunities have led us to revisit the crowdfunding community as we look to build the capital needed to support the product and business development required for expansion into these new markets.”
