Scanfil Marks 40th Anniversary

In 1976, Finnish entrepreneur Jorma J. Takanen established Scanfil Oy, a manufacturer of sheet metal mechanics for the electronics industry, in Sievi, Finland. In the 1980s, the company expanded its operations into electronics manufacturing. The 1990s signifies strong growth for Scanfil, and the company's turnover increased from €5 million to more than €220 million. During 2000, the company went through fast and extensive globalization. In 2010, Scanfil’s focus shifted more and more towards professional electronics. The company continued to grow through acquisitions.
In 2015, the company acquired PartnerTech AB, a globally operating contract manufacturer and supplier of after-sales market services. Through the transaction, Scanfil more than doubled its turnover, the number of personnel, the number of production facilities as well as a number of customers. Currently, Scanfil operates in Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Germany, China and the USA.
Today, Scanfil is the market leader in the Nordic countries, among the largest companies in its sector in Europe and a household name in the global market. Scanfil services are used by numerous international automation, energy, IT and health service providers, as well as companies operating in the field of urbanization.
Scanfil’s network of factories consists of 12 production units in Europe, Asia, and North America. The total number of employees is 3,800.
