CalcuQuote Adds Venkel to EMS Quoting Platform
June 26, 2018 | CalcuQuoteEstimated reading time: 1 minute
CalcuQuote, a comprehensive request for quotation (RFQ) management system designed for the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) industry, is partnering with Austin-based Venkel Ltd, a supplier of PCB components, specializing in surface mount components, to provide a faster quoting experience for EMS companies.
The integration between Venkel's inventory Application Programming Interface (API) and CalcuQuote's quoting software application allows instant look up of component pricing and availability data at the click of a button.
"Venkel's emphasis on providing a reliable supply of SMT components overlaps perfectly with our customer base of high-mix, low-volume PCB Assembly companies," said Chintan Sutaria, president of CalcuQuote.
CalcuQuote customers who have a need for fast and accurate response to RFQs will be able to upload a Bill of Material (BOM) into CalcuQuote and begin the process of instantly searching through Venkel’s inventory with their account’s pricing. The end result is that hundreds of components can be sourced within seconds without the need for sending and receiving spreadsheets.
"The integration with CalcuQuote will help our customers get a real-time response to quote requests from Venkel, which we know will be helpful to many," said Anil Venkatrao, president of Venkel.

Knocking Down the Bone Pile: Revamp Your Components with BGA Reballing
10/14/2025 | Nash Bell -- Column: Knocking Down the Bone PileBall grid array (BGA) components evolved from pin grid array (PGA) devices, carrying over many of the same electrical benefits while introducing a more compact and efficient interconnect format. Instead of discrete leads, BGAs rely on solder balls on the underside of the package to connect to the PCB. In some advanced designs, solder balls are on both the PCB and the BGA package. In stacked configurations, such as package-on-package (PoP), these solder balls also interconnect multiple packages, enabling higher functionality in a smaller footprint.
