COMPUTEX Taiwan Announces 2021 Schedule
December 30, 2020 | Dan Feinberg, I-Connect007Estimated reading time: 1 minute

Readers who are involved with IoT design, manufacture and distribution, the Internet of Things, gaming and other advanced electronic devices, are familiar not only with CES, but also with COMPUTEX.
Established in 1981, COMPUTEX TAIPEI is the leading global ICT and IoT show in Asia. Co-organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taipei Computer Association (TCA), COMPUTEX covers the full spectrum of the ICT industry, from established brands to startups and from improved to totally new devices and components.
At a video teleconference event, COMPUTEX announced it will host both live and virtual shows, June 1-4, 2021. At an online press event, James C.F. Huang, chairman of TAITRA, discussed the successful efforts in Taiwan to curb COVID-19 and he happily announced that COMPUTEX will take place in Taipei. Additionally, COMPUTEX will include significant virtual segments.
In a press statement, COMPUTEX 2021 announced it will use artificial intelligence for the first time to create a smart Online-Merge-Offline (OMO) exhibition platform, connecting the tech community through an innovative model that breaks barriers and limitations.
At the teleconference, David Reinsel, senior vice president of IDC, stated that the number of ICT (internet connected devices) is expected to increase to approximately 56 billion devices by 2025. Speakers also provided other “teasers” to what’s on the horizon, adding to the hope that COMPUTEX will kick off a return-to-normal for the electronics industry.
With the return of shows like COMPUTEX—and hopefully an in-person CES in early 2022—as well as the addition of virtual capabilities, you can be sure that many new and exciting devices and abilities will be announced as we hopefully return to normal over the next 12 months.
