Collins Aerospace, a unit of Raytheon Technologies Corp., has been awarded a multi-year Performance Based Logistics avionics support contract to the Royal Netherlands Air Force’s (RNLAF) fleet of 15 CH-47F Chinook helicopters. Collins Aerospace will provide field service engineering, program management, logistics service and repair and overhaul for the Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) components installed on the aircraft at the Gilze-Rijen Air Base, in the Netherlands.
With PBL and predictive supply and demand management, the RNLAF is able to reduce the number of spares needed, eliminate back-orders and cuts out any unnecessary paperwork. This reduces turnaround time, increases parts availability and saves time and money.
“We have a long, successful history of supporting customer PBLs, delivering the highest level of in-country service that optimizes mission readiness,” said Craig Bries, vice president and general manager, Avionics Service and Support for Collins Aerospace. “As the original equipment manufacturer for the CH-47F avionics suite, we provide an unmatched level of expertise to help ensure fleets are ready at a moment’s notice.”
“This PBL follows a Letter of Intent signed between the RNLAF and Collins Aerospace in 2019 and is one of the key steps the RNLAF is taking to provide guaranteed fleet availability and in-theatre support, during the RNLAF’s key missions,” said Lieutenant General J.D. Luyt, commander of the RNLAF.
Collins Aerospace has over 20 years of PBL contracting expertise with a 100 percent program renewal rate. This proven track record has shown that PBLs improve reliability and performance by integrating all facets of a comprehensive logistics chain.
