Mentor Graphics' Henry Potts to Deliver PCB West 2007 Keynote Address
January 24, 2007 |Estimated reading time: 3 minutes
UP Media Group Inc. is pleased to announce that Henry Potts, vice president and general manager of the Systems Design Division of Mentor Graphics Corp., will deliver the keynote address at PCB Design Conference West 2007 on Tuesday, March 27, at 8 a.m. in the Santa Clara Convention Center Theater.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
According to Potts, the demands for increasingly competitive products are driving the electronics industry to advanced PCB fabrication technologies, the use of innovative design methods to cut cycle time and reduce product costs, and greater design team collaboration outside the PCB space.
Potts' keynote address, Cross Currents: Where PCB Design Meets ICs and Hardware, will discuss trends on company and market globalization, outsourcing, and new manufacturing technologies. He also will cite examples of how the EDA industry is developing new technologies to meet these challenges and specific examples of future development directions both within the PCB design space and extended to IC-to-PCB and electro-mechanical design team collaboration.
Potts joined Mentor Graphics in March 1999 as vice president and general manager of the Systems Design Division. He has over 33 years of experience in the electronics industry, including experience in IC and systems development to serving as president and CEO of a VC-funded startup. He was senior vice president for Hitachi Semiconductor, where he oversaw all marketing and product development activities for microprocessor and embedded products for the U.S. Potts also has held senior management positions at Motorola, VLSI Technology, Schlumberger and Texas Instruments. He has a bachelor's in electrical engineering from the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />University of Southwestern Louisiana.
The keynote address at PCB West 2007 is free to attend, but registration and a conference or expo-only badge are required for admission. To register or find out more about the show, including the two-day product and service exhibition and other free special events, visit http://www.pcbwest.com/.
