Foxconn Aims to Enter Global Electric Vehicle Market

Foxconn, the largest supplier of Apple’s iPhone, announced that it will be entering the electric vehicle market.
Also known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Company, the Taiwanese company president Liu Young-way announced that his company wants to provide components and services for 10% of the world’s EVs by between 2025 and 2027.
He made the presentation during the company’s Hon Hai Technology Day event, where he revealed details about its modular EV platform with a variety of chassis sizes, as well as support for different battery capacities, suspension types and ground clearance. This should enable Foxconn to partner with manufacturers for sedans, SUVs, and even commercial vehicles.
Foxconn announced back in January that it would produce electric cars with Fiat Chrysler for the Chinese market, saying the company would handle electronics and software.
