Congressman Emmer Visits Chaska-Based Circuit Board Manufacturer
July 7, 2023 | Congressman Tom EmmerEstimated reading time: Less than a minute
On Wednesday, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) toured Pro-Tech Interconnect Solutions. Pro-Tech’s Chaska facility has 83 employees and manufactures printed circuit boards for the military, aerospace, medical and commercial industries.
“Manufacturing products like chips and semiconductors here at home doesn’t just provide good-paying jobs to Minnesotans. Investing in the production of this essential technology is important to our national security,” Emmer said. “Thank you to the team at Pro-Tech for sharing their work with us.”
Pro-Tech President Melanie Bera Anderson added, “Pro-Tech Interconnect Solutions LLC is the only 100% woman-owned and operated “rigid” printed circuit board manufacturer in the USA. We build boards for the F35 Jet, medical implants and equipment, to commercial controls.”
Printed circuit boards like the kind produced by Pro-Tech are used in virtually all electronic products. However, only about four percent of printed circuit boards are produced domestically.
Pro-Tech was founded in 1968, and since 2018 has been operated by the woman-owned American Circuit Corporation.
