AOI Line Highlights Upgradeability
November 26, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
EINDHOVEN, the Netherlands Marantz Business Electronics premiered its iSpector 350 AOI system at Productronica this November in Munich, Germany, part of its upgradeable AOI platform. The AOI line can go from benchtop to in-line inspection, with various lighting configurations.
The iSpector 350 supports PCB, SMT and thru-hole, paste, and reflow and wave solder joint inspection. It reportedly offers improved defect ratios and programming times over conventional systems, targeting high-mix/quick-turn environments. Programming options include a component library, golden board, or Prototype Mode for first-article inspection. PCBs up to 350 × 250 mm are accepted.
The system uses an overhead gantry design for video inspection and PCB access, and boasts upgradeable lighting. It can move from entry-level desktop to fully in-line operation, according to the company. Marantz software, such as Model 22X, is compatible with the platform.
