3-W Surface Mount Resistors in 1-W Package
September 21, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas The LRF3W series is a 3-W surface mount chip resister offered in a package traditionally rated at 1 W. TT electronics IRC Advanced Film Division released the component for fuel gauging, AC/DC power supplies, and related applications. The LRF3W benefits from "terminations on the long end of the devices, creating a low inductance part and resulting in less stress on the solder joints," as well as improved thermal properties, said Gary Bleasdell, thick film business unit director for IRC's Advanced Film Division.
Applications for this series include fuel gauging, over current detection, AC/DC power supplies and VRMs, motorized seats, and automotive fuel pump collision cut-off. The wrap-around terminations are leach-resistant with either tin/lead or lead-free matte tin over nickel plating.
