Flexible Selective Soldering System
September 5, 2007 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
MORRISVILLE, N.C. The 350 Selective Soldering System from Juki Corporation is capable of lead-free production. X, Y, Z, and A axes servo-drive system and the functionality to begin production immediately are standard on the soldering system.
The 350 includes a soldering unit that features forced hot-air nitrogen pre-heat at the mini-wave nozzle, which is said to limit dross build up, open the process window, and reduce maintenance. A nitrogen management system can reduce nitrogen consumption.
Other features include a spray fluxer or micro-dot drop-jet fluxer mounted on an individual A axis servo-drive, a 5-L pressurized flux tank, a quick-exchange mini-wave nozzle ranging from 4 to 30 mm in diameter, an lead-free-ready solder pot with 110-lb. capacity, auto feeder solder roll to maintain solder pot feed level, and a wave-height on/off control switch. The online/offline programming software accepts a variety of image types, as well as Gerber files for programming using a GUI. A float sensor also maintains a constant level of solder in the pot.
The soldering system is available with a dual nozzle and dual fluxing capability that allows the use of a variety of nozzle types on a single board. An endoscope process camera is also available, enabling real-time process viewing to ensure solder quality. This system is a result of a partnership between Soldercomm, Inertec, and Juki, who joined to design, manufacture, sell, and service selective soldering systems. Juki's service group supports the machine.
