ACI Installs Dage X-ray System
June 22, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
FREMONT, Calif. Dage Precision Industries partnered with the American Competitiveness Institute (ACI) to provide large, high-resolution X-ray images for failure analysis and optical inspection with a XD7600 X-ray inspection system. The unit was installed at ACI's Philadelphia-based demonstration factory, which is supported by equipment manufacturers and material suppliers.
The XD7600 provides oblique-angle viewing up to 70°, submicron feature recognition, and real-time digital inspection at 1.3 megapixels. The equipment advisory board (EAB), comprising electronics manufacturing equipment representatives from various U.S. businesses, approved the partnership and inspection system. "Dage participates in programs such as this as a member of a consortium of equipment manufacturers and material suppliers to ensure successful technology transfer," noted Dage representatives.
The system was installed in ACI's Electronics Manufacturing Productivity Facility (EMPF). ACI operates facilities in the U.S. Navy's center of excellence, EMPF, and the U.S. Army's electronics sustainment center (AESC). The scientific research corporation targets advancements in electronics manufacturing benefiting the Department of Defense (DOD) and the EMS industry.
