Design-in Embedded Passives
February 7, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
WILSONVILLE, Ore. Mentor Graphics Corporation released Board Station XE, the latest generation of its design-flow software for large enterprise customers. The update leverages existing design tools, such as libraries and design data, with improvements that allow adoption of a common environment for layout, routing, and manufacturing capabilities.
The XE reportedly lets users shorten design cycle times and develop new functionalities, such as embedded passives, in complex boards. XE touts design features from Mentor's AutoActive environment and access to the topology planner and router, as well as XtremeAR and XtremePCB applications. The Board Architect schematic capture tool integrates with the library-management system, data-management system, and I/O design and constraint editing tools. Other high-speed design and analysis tools are included.
