APEX Keynotes Look to Space, Future
October 6, 2006 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
BANNOCKBURN, Ill. Buzz Aldrin, Ph.D. and American astronaut, and three PCB industry guides will give their interpretations of the future at the IPC Printed Circuits Expo, APEX, and Designers Summit, February 20 22, 2007 in Los Angeles, Calif.
Aldrin, an active advocate of privatization and reusable rockets, will give a talk on February 20th, recounting his famous 1969 walk on the moon, his vision of civilians exploring space, and the benefits of space tourism. Chair of the National Space Society and his non-profit ShareSpace Foundation, Aldrin looks to create a "Mars Cycler" to frequently transport people to deep space. He operates a rocket-building think-tank Starcraft Boosters, Inc., for this purpose.
Walt Custer of Custer Consulting Group will speak to the future of domestic and international electronics industries in his February 21st keynote. Custer will deliver data, tools, and human insight for monitoring the PCB industry, and comprehending the significance of events, in "Business Outlook: Global Electronics Industry."
The third keynote at APEX will come from Jim McElroy, CEO of iNEMI; and Dan Gamota, director at Motorola, Inc. "The Next Big Thing," on the 22nd, will deal less with predicting the future, and more with mapping corporate needs to progress in the future. "2007 iNEMI Roadmap Setting Industry's Technology Direction" will highlight R&D necessities, paradigm shifts, concerns, and recommendations within the organization's industry roadmap.
