MicroFETs Conserve Space, Energy
September 8, 2006 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine Fairchild Semiconductor created 11 MicroFET MOSFETs for high-volume portable products. Thermally enhanced, compact, and low-profile, the power switches integrate proprietary Power Trench technology into a 2- × 2- × 0.8-mm molded leadless package (MLP). The line was designed to conserve space in compact, dense end-products.
For use in cell phones, digital cameras, games, and other devices with less than 30 or 20V, the MicroFETs are smaller that a typical SSOT-6 MOSFET. The product range offers low RDS(on) and low thermal resistance. Lead-free and RoHS-compliant, the power switches meet or exceed ICP/JEDEC standard J-STD-020C.
