FlexLink Wins Installation Bid

GÖTEBORG, Sweden FlexLink reported receiving orders for two assembly lines and one shipping line for finished products from a North American computer manufacturer in North America, following an evaluation by the customer's central and local engineers.
Reasons for the deal included FlexLink's local presence (especially concerning locally-produced content), knowledge of the processes particular to the facilities, and local engineering in conjunction with international support. The supplier also stated that their procurement process was a factor in the choice. "We had a business unit of managing director facilitating this order," said Paul Jarossy, director of marketing at FlexLink. He added that orders of this magnitude generally take more than one year to arrange.
The order is confirmed at $4.6 million with an attached one-year service contract. "When we do systems, we have a one-year warranty on the components, but labor and service is added to that warranty in this case," Jarossy clarified. This order follows two installations of assembly lines earlier in 2006, which went to North Africa and Eastern Europe.
