Automated Device Programmer Reduces Human Errors

REDMOND, Wash. — The FLX500 self-contained, automated device programming system from Data I/O Corp. features a language-independent touch-screen user interface, which can eliminate operator training and errors.
The FLX500 picks devices from a tray, places them into sockets for programming, and returns programmed devices to output trays. The FLX500 uses proprietary high-speed FlashCORE programming technology for Flash and serial memory devices, NAND flash, and programmable microcontrollers. FLX500 supports BGAs, microBGAs, chip-scale packages (CSPs), plastic leadless chip carriers (PLCCs), thin small-outline packages (TSOPs), and quad flat packages (QFPs), reportedly delivering 500 device-per-hour (DPH) throughput. A device serialization option allows dynamic programming of data elements, including product IDs or media access control (MAC) addresses, into devices.
