Powell-Mucha Consulting Presents EMS Tutorial
January 9, 2006 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
ANAHEIM, Calif. — To help EMS providers overcome challenges such as the transition to RoHS compliance and finding an adequate budget in a low-margin industry, Powell-Mucha Consulting, Inc. offers "Creating Competitive Advantage in Today's EMS Market," on February 7, 2006, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. at the APEX conference in Anaheim, Calif.
EMS providers are continuously looking for ways to differentiate services to their customers. Marketing internal competencies such as RoHS conversion support, project launch, lean manufacturing, product design, or post-manufacturing support also can be difficult. Powell-Mucha Consulting's tutorial aims to assist providers in these areas. "EMS marketers face a lot of challenges: low budgets, prospects with unrealistic cost expectations, competitive issues, and cycles of changing technology," states Susan Mucha, president, Powell-Mucha Consulting, Inc. "But these changes have been repeating themselves for decades." The tutorial focuses on industry patterns and discusses strategies to overcome short-term obstacles, such as RoHS compliance, as well as longer-term hurdles like managing budgets in a low-margin industry. "We also dissect the entire EMS value proposition and look at business models appropriate in various industry tiers," adds Mucha.
The tutorial covers five key areas: sources of competitive advantage in EMS services, brand definition/promotion, lead qualification/mindshare maintenance, packaging EMS services, and account acquisition strategies. For more information, please visit www.goipcshows.org/profdev.asp.
