AOI Standard Completed
July 21, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
LOVELAND, Colo. — Members of the 7-32 Automated Inspections sub-committee of the IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries completed the final draft of the AOI Standards Document this week at a meeting in Loveland, Colo.
The document, which provides a set of critically required guidelines for capabilities definitions, as well as proper evaluation, implementation and operation use of AOI was two years in the making. "I'm extremely happy with the effort that the members of the 7-32 Sub-committee set forth to finish this document," said Joseph Vilella, chairman of the subcommittee. "This is a unifying document that was essential to foster the proper evaluation, deployment and use of a technology that is absolutely critical to ensure the best possible quality of our electronics products. I would also like to recognize the efforts of John Perry, the IPC Project Manager in charge of the creation of this document, for his unwavering support of this effort." The final draft is ready for industry review and should be available for industry use in 90 to 120 days.
