Indium Employee Earns SMTA Certification
June 24, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
UTICA, N.Y. — Indium Corp. of America technical engineer Adrian Low is the ninth engineer at Indium to receive SMTA certification. Other Indium SMTA-certified members include senior technologist Ronald C. Lasky, Ph.D.; lead-free product manager Tim Jensen; U.S. regional sales manager Karl Pfluke; Singapore technical manager Kelvin Ho; U.S. technical support engineer Karthik Vijayamadhavan; Mexico technical support engineer Ivan Castellanos; U.S. senior technical support engineer David Sbiroli; and Malaysia technical engineer Sehar Samiappan.
While other programs certify specific areas of the electronics assembly process, such as rework and repair, the SMTA program recognizes and certifies the entire SMT assembly process at an engineering level. Participants must have several years of SMT experience, as well as having completed educational requirements in a technical discipline. The course includes a series of workshops and concludes with two days of competitive testing.
