Slide Switches Conserve Board Space
June 3, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
TORRANCE, Calif. — Copal Electronics' CAS series slide switches allow designers to replace jumper-pin and wire arrangements with a compact, surface mount switch. Measuring 5.4 x 2.5 x 2.5 mm for the SPDT configuration, DPDT and dual-SPDT versions are also available. Compatible with most pick-and-place machines, the RoHS-compliant switches are supplied in 1,000-piece tape-and-reel packaging. Available in a washable format with a tape seal, as well as non-washable without a tape seal, they can withstand a 250°C maximum reflow temperature. Their operating temperature range is -40° to 85°C. Twin gold-plated contacts provide notable contact stability and low, >50 mΩ contact resistance. Gull-wing or J-hook termination options are also available.
