New Machine-control Software Version Available
May 20, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
STOCKHOLM, Sweden — MYDATA automation AB's new machine-control software, TPSys 2.4.3., is its newest version of TPSys, the company's Linux-based machine control software designed for high-mix production. New features in version 2.4.3 include faster assembly speed and a new, patent-pending calibration method, which uses a much smaller calibration device that is automatically moved to a number of predefined positions within the placement area. An advanced mathematical algorithm then combines the measurements from each position and calculates the correction data for the entire area, resulting in more accurate calibration through a device that is virtually insensitive to handling and storage conditions. Improvements for faster assembly speed include faster tool and conveyor-board changes, faster board-level measurement and improved optimization, which are said to boost actual throughput up to 15%. Additional features include a simplified user interface for operators, and auto-teach of large components up to 132 x 26 mm.
